You’ll learn about ways to approach Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in the workplace. We’ll introduce you to an identity and culture activity and explain five key ideas everyone who calls Australia home should know about. You’ll hear stories and perspectives told by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Upon completion, you’ll get access to links for each of these stories. You can pause it to take notes and start it again as many times as you like.
The video goes for 1-hour. We suggest you allow at least 1.5 hours, to give you time to look through the supporting materials you’ll receive at the end. You can pause it to take notes and start it again as many times as you like.
Watching this video will benefit your organisation by opening the eyes of you and your team to new stories and perspectives about Australia’s shared history and where we are today. It will help you gain a deeper understanding of why First Nations histories and cultures are important for your workplace. Your organisation will benefit from learning about the steps you can take, both personally and professionally, to contribute to a brighter future for our country. The Identity and Culture activity shared in the video will benefit your team as it provides an opportunity for you each to learn more about your own culture, and the cultures of the people you work with.
This video will create learning within your organisation and provide cultural education, which may help you meet some of the actions identified in your RAP. If your organisation doesn’t have a RAP this video will still provide important cultural learning for staff.
